The Ministry of Health of The Republic of Indonesia expands the collaboration with Grab and Good Doctor to launch Vaccine Center in Palembang to accelerate the COVID-19 vaccination

• The Grab Fatigon Vaccine Center in Palembang, South Sumatera utilizes the technology approach for efficient vaccination roll-out
• In three days, this vaccination centre is estimated to be able to vaccinate up to 4,600 citizens in Palembang, with priority on elderly citizens and frontliners from public transportation and tourism sector
• Grab encourage its driver and delivery partners to participate in supporting the National Vaccination Programme by inviting the senior family member to get inoculated as the vaccination programme accelerates

Pusat vaksinasi yang beroperasi pada 29 sampai 31 Maret 2021 untuk gelombang pertama ini melakukan pendekatan teknologi dalam pelaksanaan proses vaksinasi yang efisien dan menargetkan vaksinasi kepada 4.600 masyarakat Palembang yang terdiri dari lansia dan pekerja publik sektor transportasi dan pariwisata.

Palembang, 31 March 2021 – Following the success in pioneering the establishment of vaccine center with technology-first approach and 3-in-1 methods in Bali, Banten,Bandung, Solo, dan Pekanbaru, the Ministry of Health of Republic of Indonesia continues its collaboration with Grab and Good Doctor to launch the vaccine center in Palembang, South Sumatera targeting to inoculate 4,600 senior citizens and frontliners from public transportation and tourism sector in Palembang area in three days of its operations. 

Grab, Good Doctor, and Fatigon collaborate in setting up the Grab Fatigon Vaccine Center to support the National Vaccination Programme. Located in Jakabaring Sport City, Grab Fatigon Vaccine Center operated from 29 to 31 March 2021  for the first wave of vaccinations. To efficiently and safely deliver COVID-19 vaccines, the Palembang’s Vaccine Center was built with technology approach starting from pre-registration, scheduling appointments and pre-screening, to the implementation of QR Code system to shorten the registration time utilizing the GrabHealth powered by Good Doctor digital and technology infrastructure partnering with the government. 

The event was attended by Muhammad Tito Karnavian, Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Herman Deru, the Governor of South Sumatra and the Forkopimda ranks of South Sumatra, as well as Harnojoyo, the Mayor of Palembang and the Forkopimda of Palembang City. In addition, representatives from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and representatives from the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia also attended this event.

Muhammad Tito Karnavian, Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia during his visit to the Grab Vaccine Center Palembang said, “Accelerating vaccination is one of the keys to controlling the rate of transmission of COVID-19 and achieving herd immunity. When implementing vaccination, each region across Indonesia will need toprioritize those who are prone to the virus exposure such as elderly citizens and medical frontliners as well as those who have high interaction such as public transportation drivers. We applaud Grab and Good Doctor for making breakthrough by synergizing between the private sector and the government in distributing the COVID-19 vaccine in Indonesia through this vaccination center. The implementation of this vaccination center went well, from screening, vaccine, observation, to completion. The location is also adequate in Jakabaring and this can be a role model for other regions in Indonesia that will carry out mass vaccinations.”

“Vaccine will be our key to taste freedom from COVID-19. The deployment of life-saving vaccines brings hope for us that normalcy is on the horizon and the multi sectoral collaboration like Grab and Good Doctor together with the public sector will emerge as a powerful enabler in expediting the distribution of the vaccines. I would like to encourage every adult in South Sumatera to get vaccinated and participate in the effort to achieve herd immunity and propel the economic recovery. Pusat vaksin ini menghadirkan metode Walk-In dan jalur khusus untuk tahap pengecekan/pemeriksaan (pre-screening) guna mengidentifikasi kondisi kesehatan calon penerima vaksin sebelum mereka mendapatkan vaksin, terutama bagi mereka yang memiliki riwayat medis.

The Grab Fatigon Vaccine Center presents Walk-In methods and a dedicated lane for pre-screening to identify certain health conditions or circumstances before the vaccines are given to the potential recipients especially for those with existing medical conditions. The vaccine center is operated in collaboration with Indorelawan with discipline enforcement of health protocols implementation. The Grab Fatigon Vaccine Center in Palembang is estimated to be able to dispense a total of 4,600 vaccinations in three days.  In addition to COVID-19 vaccines, the vaccine recipients will also receive Fatigon Promuno Herbal Immunomodulator as a supplement for their health protection.

Vaccine is the best way to protect ourselves from the virus, significantly reduce that risk and help keep others safe. Vaccines are provided by the Ministry of Health and will be available to the eldery category and public workers in the transportation and tourism sector eligible under Phase 2 of the country’s vaccination programme. To protect elderly citizens from the virus exposure and provide protection against the coronavirus, Grab is encouraging its driver and delivery partners to invite their senior family members to the Grab Fatigon Vaccine Center for getting inoculation together in a more efficient way.
